Prof.
Dr. Raffaele Capasso is a Professor of Pharmacology in the Department
of Agricultural Sciences, University of Naples Federico II. He finished his degree
in Pharmacy (1996); Master in Medicinal Plants (2000); Master in Pharmacology (2002);
and PhD in Drug Science (2005). His major research areas are studying
cannabinoid, vanilloid and kappa-opioid receptors in the gastrointestinal
tract, both in physiological (e.g. intestinal motility) and pathophysiological
states (e.g. inflammation and cancer); Ethnopharmacological studies on
medicinal plants and their active ingredients used in traditional medicine;
Clinical pharmacology of herbal products; and Nutritional pharmacology. He has
published more than 260 articles with 16077 citations (Google scholar) and h-index: 59 (Scopus), Citation: 15533 (Scopus) up to
date.
